The unique outing to the local senior center in my second year of my secondary school remains an unforgettable memory.

​

These seniors who listened to our voice are all far form ordinary, they were all the cream of the crop in various industries in their youth. For instance, ninety-four-year-old Mr. Wang Kaizhu, a pioneer in China's Natural Language Processing research, also founded the Computer Software program at Harbin Institute of Technology was the one who I remembered most clearly. The ninety-three-year-old lady who witnessed the long history of the Russian Department of SISU was also one of our listeners.

We shared euphonious songs and spectacular Chinese poems with these scholarly elderly people, and they also opened up about some of their precious experience to us from their youth when we stopped by each of them after performing.

This trip taught me social responsibility through sharing and expressing myself bravely to others and also inspires me to follow the steps by these elderly people to study harder in order to reach our targets.
